Surprisingly enough, many online marketers and bloggers are introverts. We find it easier to be behind our computers communicating to an audience we cannot see. However, in order to grow our businesses, we have to venture out of our comfort zones.
Getting Out of My Comfort Zone BlogPaws 2017
I knew at some point, if I wanted to network, I’d have to step out from behind the computer. BlogPaws 2017 was the perfect opportunity for that. I had been invited to speak, so I could share my love of creating branded visual assets. The fear & anxiety was real!
The community of bloggers, marketers, and brands were incredibly inviting. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Harper Lee & Tolula from the K9 Harper Lee, along with their incredible parents.
Walking into the dining area, quietly looking for a place to sit, meant reverting back to my high school self. My inner thoughts battling between finding an empty table and breaking out my shell. The team from Helping Hands made me feel welcome every single time. Their business mission simply inspiring.

The exhibit area was another mountain to overcome. Learning to introduce myself to different brands was important. Of course, it’s a great way to develop new business relationships, but mustering up the confidence was huge. They say the only way to overcome your fears is to face it. Well, BlogPaws 2017 challenged me to do just that. IT WAS WONDERFUL! Sure, it took me 2 days to finally connect in the exhibit hall, but I did it.
Overall, I did some “shell-busting” at the BlogPaws conference and it helped me grow in so many ways. There’s something about people and businesses who are absolutely passionate about animals.
Share your own BlogPaws experiences! I’d love to hear them.
